In the words of Meredith Gray "OMG OMG" how good was last nights final episode of Grey's! Far out that show never ceases to surprise me with its brilliant twists and turns, big ups to the superb writers for that sneaky, heart stopping twist last night, they always seem to pull out the showstoppers for the finales! This show is not edge of your seat its completely off it! I LOVE IT! Cant wait for next season (premieres in USA in September) to see what happens!

Hey ZM, what did you guys think of the Britney: For the Record documentary?
I personally found the documentary very moving and she genuinely is a sweetheart, she just got a little lost along the way. However, her eyes did look very empty and sad a lot of the time, clearly there are a lot of issues there and I sincerely hope she can deal with everything better in the future. I teared up when she said "I'm sad"...she has all the money in the world but she still gets lonely. Fame would really turn everything upside down..you wouldn't know who to trust and if they were genuine or not or if they were just after you to 'dirt' or get a picture. I think that society expects far more of celebrities than we expect of ourselves. People judge them so harshly when we can never actually understand what it's like or how it would feel to have the whole world watching you every move and having up to 100 lawless paparazzi harassing you all the time. I personally avoid any tabloid magazine, 'goss' or anything that supports the paparazzi and I really hope this documentary might wake people up to the fact that our selfishness is what fuels this entire industry. People are, in general, disguisted by the paparazzi but are happy to look at the pictures they have taken or read sensationalist lies about them. This is just my view.
I remember when Britney fell ill and it seemed all most people could do was either laugh, unfairly critcize or continue to pry their noses in to the magazines. People like Perez Hilton wanted her to commit suicide and a lot of other people said some VERY nasty things, especially regarding mental illness. But who is the one more ill? In my view, it is society. We fail to see celebrities as human beings. They are seen as 'ideas' and are treated like they are objects. Their children are harassed and yelled at, too. Then when the child cries from all the flashing cameras and people yelling, the magazines portray that parent as a "bad mother/father". Celebrities are put them under such harsh scrutiny. I really don't think buying someone's CD or watching their movie then all of a sudden 'gives us the right' to think we then should know every detail of that person's life. We don't really ever stop to think about what it must be like for someone else. Of course, the law favours the media; American "freedom of the press" is so important that people's well being is put at stake and things are written about them that are completely false simply to sell a story. Not to mention the U.S/especially California law makes it very hard for a celebrity to ever do anything about anything! Actually though, privacy is the right of every human being. When Britney had 60 paparazzi climbing the walls of the ambulance outside her home trying to get her to hospital and then had 100 paparazzi waiting at the hospital and police had to be called in, this really shows that this entire industry cares nothing about the celebrity, the law or the general public (since the paps frequently run red lights). I don't think it reflects well on society, at all. It was ironic that even some paparazzi (e.g Nick Stern) quit after seeing what was happening to Britney.
Britney said it best when she said "I didn't think it was anyone's business". I feel she was very honest and anything she didn't talk about, should be left to rest. Britney needs support, not judgement.
Thanks ZM for advertising this documentary and backing it, it was excellent! I really hope she comes to New Zealand for her tour. next year.

I think Rihanna's tattoo looks more Hawaiian than Maori... she has what looks like a hibiscus near the top and the koru patterns are a lot more kind of angular than Maori patterns. This is more typical or Hawaiian/ Tahitian type stuff. But still cool!

Just want to say thank you soo much for giving me the chance to talk with Deb this morning. A few things she said, were very accurate, and other bits I was not sure about only because I was 2 when she died, so I have no idea bout somethings... like, if she likes tea and chatting.. :o) thou ran it all past dad (skeptic - hes a scientist) and he confirmed the bits i didn't know....
i cant believe i actually could talk to her !!! .. dad said it was spot on the karma comment deb made... apparently mum was a big believer in what comes aorund goes around, and even got a chuckle out of dad when i told him bout mums comment of 'don't worry the person who did this is suffering' .. and also went back thru some of her school reports, and sure enough written in teachers ink from 1960 something is 'suzanne gabbles' ... dad cracked up at that !! .. so to even get a response from dad must mean that some of the things were for dad within the reading itself !!
thank you so much guys, you have no idea how much this means to me !! if there is ever a way to repay your kindness, you have my email.. just ask !!
thank you again !!!!!
Stevie :o) :o) :o)
p.s... i spoke to mum... hehe :o) YAY

Hi Guys
Fielddays by all accounts is/was amazing. Mystery Creek is the biggest events venue thats far enough away from any town, but close enough for a majority of people to get to.
Which got me thinking. There were well in excess of 10,000 people at fielddays, but it doesn't feel like a pen!
Every year at Big Day Out it feels more and more and more crammed. Whether it's because people are getting bigger/fatter, or more people are going, I don't know.
Mystery Creek would be the perfect venue for the Big Day Out 2009. Hamilton is far more central, there isn't as much of an issue getting to Mystery Creek as it is to Mt Smart/Ericcson/Warriors Stadium, and the Mystery Creek has waaaay more land than the tiny Mt Smart/Ericcson/Warriors Stadium
Mystery Creek is big enough to comfortably allocate the various sound stages, and the music wouldn't all reverberate around as it does at Mt Ericcson/Smart/Warriors Stadium. It's horrible there. A complete mash of noise, that couldn't even be described as Music.
My friends and I think it would be a perfect venue, Hamilton has ample accommodation, Mystery Creek won't annoy any crotchety residents who are anti-fun, and best of all, it's only 75 minutes from Auckland. Having Mystery Creek also means BDO could run later, perhaps to midnight.
What do you lot think? If the movement is started now, Mystery Creek could well be the home of Big Day Out 2009.
By the way, I have no bias as I live in Wellington :)

Just a comment on your poison sausage comment this morning. While an adult would not eat a sausage from the ground, Craigavon Park is a dog park and so the concern is that someone is deliberately trying to poison/kill dogs. Obviously this is a huge concern to all the dog owners who use the park. Also the poison sausages previously found were left by the children's playground which could have had tragic circumstances.

Hi guys
Just got to work after 1 ½ hrs (usually takes 15mins on a good day!!).
It was great – Waikato is totally in support of the truckies out there, and there’s 100’s of them coming from all directions.
I felt proud to be driving alongside them (and behind them) – the trucks protesting against the increase in road user charges, and while I’m totally in support of them – it was almost like my own personal protest against the increasing costs of petrol at the same time (my tank is low and I was waiting for my petrol gauge light to come on!!)
There’s people just standing on the streets waving and cheering, people in cars tooting and waving.
And the truckies, even though they’re crawling along at a snail’s pace, are still very considerate when it comes to a car needing to merge and letting them in – cars are also doing the same.
For those who didn’t want to be caught up in it – they took the side streets (hope they got to work on time?).
Have a good day everyone, and good on all those truckies out there.
Wendy

I recently broke up with my bf, but because i was sick of the whining,b*tching, d*ckheadedness and stalking of my previous ex after i broke up with him, this time i decided to convince this dude to break up with ME.
and it workd, not the first time i tried baiting him into an arguement, but when i said things like "i dont want to be the cause of your hurt anymore" he took the stand and told me, it would be better if we werent together and he hopes im not sad with a lil sad face after the txt (yes, it happnd through txt)
It was 1 of the easiest things I've had to do, so ladies, if you don't want to feel guilty about breaking up with your loser, feel free to try this way!

Hi guys,
Last year I won the Fastest packer prize and have just taken my trip to
Queenstown with my husband. It was brilliant!
I would like to say a big THANK YOU to ZM and Qantas for the flights and 2 nights accommodation. We actually stayed an extra 3 nights and took in some of the Winterfest, did the Shotover jet, Milford sound trip, AND got snowed on which was a new experience for me!!
So Thanks, you guys rock!

Hi There,
I would like to see someone acknowledge the University New Zealand Rugby League Team that is going off to defend their World Cup Title in Brisbane Australia on June 30 2008. They have no funding just each individual has to raise the dollars to represent our country and I think it’s a big ask for a Uni Student to come up with 2,800. Can anyone help these guys out?
Thanks
Kim

I went to the game on Friday night at the "cake tin". As a result of this, I have two questions:
When did New Zealanders become such bad sports? There was booing when the "other team" was lining up for a kick. OK, I can perhaps understand that but what about recognising good play no matter who it is? NO-ONE clapped when the "other side" did really well. Am I just old fashioned? Odd? Happy to be both.
Why oh why did we have a large facility built to accomodate thousands of people and then squeeze them out and onto a walkway that is uncovered?? Walking from the stadium to the railway station has to be one of the worst walks there is when it is raining! Not only do people get soaked from the rain but the walkway was made so bad there are lots of puddles just to make sure your shoes get soaked also! Is there ANY good reason why a cover could not be put up?

I don't normally write my rants down, but I'll make an exception now.
One thing I am really sick of is all the good concerts - Green Day, the Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance - going to Auckland and bypassing Wellington. If I really wanted to go and see a concert that only went to Auckland, I would have to fly up to auckland and stay with my aunty and uncle. Some of the shows are starting to come to Wellington, but most of them are still going to Auckland! This is the main reason I have more or less chosen to go to Uni in Auckland, and then, most of the accomodation is either expensive or dangerous!

Yeah about the V8’s coming to Hamilton.
WELL! I am a mum to four kids, and obviously support our local events, but HELL come on!!! How am I supposed to pay for 6 tickets (my partner, me and the kids) for even just a basic pass! When we heard about the V8’s coming to Hamilton we thought great! We can have a family day, but every way I try to plan for the event (just me and hubby or me hubby and 2 kids etc etc) we simply cannot afford it. PLUS to make matters worse, if we could afford it we can’t even take our own food in so have to pay for and eat their rubbish (we are a family of mostly vegetarians). I know people always hear about families complaining and parents moaning….but COME ON!!! Is the V8’s only the exclusive few who can afford to take their kids? IT’S JUST NOT FAIR!!
Will go now, with my tail between my legs!

Sapphire and her bunch of V8 wannabes

We’ve had enough. Why are there 12 checkouts in supermarkets and 3-5 checkouts at McDonalds yet only one or two are ever open at one time????? WHY?
My partner and I have just been to McDonalds Tom Pearce Drive, Mangere/Airport this morning for a “quick” Sunday McD breaky. We waited 15 minutes to be served, one person serving, lots of staff hussling in the background but not much action and 10 other customers waiting in line. We have noticed this before – they start stalling 10 minutes before close off. All we ordered was a Big Breakfast Combo and a B&E Bagel Combo. The coffees came out straight away, sat there for 10 minutes, the hash browns sat on the tray for five minutes. Whenever we buy a burger and told to “take a seat” with our fries and drink, we ask them to bring the whole lot out at once. I don’t want to eat my fries on their own then get a burger 10 minutes later – it’s not called a meal then is it. Who are they to tell me how to consume my meal.
Then we ordered a cappuccino each from McCafe and two caramel slices. The woman was Chinese and couldn’t speak much English nor smile – something all Kiwis are renowned for and accustomed to – service with a smile. The coffees came out with no saucers, the slices came out on two different sized plates.
Notice you don’t hear the term “Fast Food” much these days. And without being or seeming racist, most of the time these fast food outlets are no longer run or owned by Kiwis. When they are, what a difference in service – that is a fact. Surely these chains, McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, KFC have an international standard that has to be followed and Dave of Wendy’s would be mortified if he saw his outlets with one checkout open, no smiley service, chili con carne cup half full!
When we go to Foodtown peak hour or other hour, always only one or two checkouts open. Lots of staff doing not much at all. I remember the days when every checkout was open regardless. Now I only notice Kmart and New World as having every checkout manned regardless of customer numbers.
What the hell is going on New Zealand – lift our standards back to where they used to be – buy Kiwi Made – hire Kiwi staff - we deserve Kiwi service standards …………. Like the good ole days!!!!!!!! People are busy these days, they want to get in and get out as soon as they can in supermarkets and “fast food” outlets.
We see so many people miffed at the same thing, why is it still happening – is no one speaking up. Send Cam out to investigate and prove a point to these stores!
God that feels better! Thank you
C&W

Ok, this is totally random but there are two things that are really f*ing me off....
1. The Government planning to raise the driving age. This really pisses me off because 15 year old drivers aren't the problem, its just general idiots, and raising the driving age will only result in older, more 'confident' teenagers with money to buy high-performance cars learning to drive. Recipe for disaster if you ask me. Oh, and I'm 15 in August and I KINDA WANNA GET MY LICENSE.....
2. Hate Groups on Bebo
This one's irrelevant to anyone who doesn't love My Chemical Romance and has Bebo, but I've seen a number of MCR hate sites on Bebo...what the hell is the point of that? Do people seriously have nothing better to do than create hate sites for a great band like MCR?? Think about it...even if you don't like MCR, would you go make a hate site? Possibly not, no. Coz that's just LAME.
Rant over.

Hey Polly,
Since they are putting graphic pics on cigarettes, are they going to put pics of horrendously fat people on McDonalds bags??
Oh and pictures of STD’s close up and babies on KY jelly bottles…??? Pics of munched up dead people on the side of your brand new car? Pics of the squirts and chunky monkeys on your roast chicken packet at the supermarket…????
I think it’s really silly… Leave the smelly smokers alone to figure it out for themselves…

Hi team,
Polly mentioned things that should have a law passed and I have come up with one I feel is only fare on New Zealand Residents.
ONLY NEW ZEALAND RESIDENTS CAN BUY LOTTO TICKETS.
Its now happened twice where an Ozzie has come over for a holiday (nothing against them of course) and won a large amount on LOTTO/BIG WEDNESDAY. So not fare on those of us who have been buying it for years and could really do with the money (they might need it to, I understand).
OK, rant over.
Regards
Al

Hi
Well, I normally don't write my rants down, but today is definitely an exception!
My fiance and I have been trying to go out for walks lately, because we have both put on a bit of weight.
Anyway, near the end of a long walk today, we walked past a parked car where a random man yelled out 'got a spare tire there mate' and started laughing his ass off ..... we were like what the??!! This guy had his girlfriend/partner and a KID in the car with him. I have never heard someone be so blatantly rude.
I was tempted to have a word back, but I know this wouldn't have solved and/or proved anything. What an idiot.
I'm still quite peeved, and I hope this guy's girlfriend was embarrassed and told him off - somehow I doubt it though.
Rant ends.
Andrea
