Ohio State University photography student Annalisa Hartlaub decided to take a creative time trip through photography. Her project, called COUNTER // CULTURE, presents a series of 10 diptychs that visualise what she would look like as both a mainstream teenager and a counterculture rebel in each decade of the past 100 years. Starting from the 1920s and working her way up to the 2010s, the 16-year-old offers the duality of each decade's youths while also imitating the type of photography and technology used in each era.
