Sometimes you find yourselves in situations where you really need to pee, but can't. Or you can actually, you just CBF, because you're just way too comfy in bed to move. Turns out you really, really should just go pee as soon as you feel the urge, because its not too great for your body when you hold it in.
If you've gotten into the habit of holding it in, over a period of years, it can increase the risk of a urinary tract infections and even lead to urinary retention, which means your bladder can never fully empty.
Urological research expert Gerald Timm, from the University of Minnesota, talked to Popular Science and explained that holding your pee "allows bacteria to build up", which then leads to infection. And no infection is a good infection.
Here comes for the very worst part: in some cases, your bladder can actually burst, pouring into your abdomen!Â
We suggest that you all keep all of this info in mind. Next time you have the urge to pee, then make like Elsa, and let it go. HAHA.
