It'll be hard to find someone who doesn't love Nutella. It's loved by many, whether they put it on top of their pancakes, smear it on their toast in the morning or just go ahead and eat it out of the jar with a spoon.Â
But this news on it's terrible nutritional value may make you Nutella lovers re-think using it as a topping on anything and everything.Â
Nutella is made from hazelnuts, skimmed milk and cocoa powder, but the real shocking part is that a standard 400g jar of the yummy chocolate spread also contains over 227g of sugar, yup that's over HALF its contents.
To put it in another way, that's a whopping 57 cubes of sugar in one jar of this size.
And this is all before we even get started on the 126g of fat in a jar.
One man even took matters into his own hands and made a 'homemade' Nutella for a video in which he just pours sugar straight on to his toast.
We're not saying to cut the sugary spread from your life, we just advise moderation when it comes to Nutella. And by moderation we mean that's no more eating it by spoonfuls from the jar as a midnight snack.Â
