Say laters to Haribo gummy bears and start chewing on the latest craze: blue 'gummy bear' vitamins, because it may just result in hella good hair.
The latest beauty obsession has came in the form of hair vitamins that according to the Kardashians, is the new way to get those luscious locks.
The vitamins are proving to be so popular that SugarBear Hair's Instagram account boasts 559,000 followers and their effective use of social media are resulting in girls as young as 12 using the product.
The hair supplement is marketed to produce longer, stronger and shinier locks, and comes in the form of a chewable, vegetarian, blue gummy bear. The product claims to feature 15 natural vitamins and minerals including zinc, Biotin and B-group vitamins.
However, Sydney-based nutritionist, Lyndi Cohen, doesn’t think that this product will solve your hair woes, as she said to news.com.au. “I think we’re quite obsessed with getting healthy and the idea that you could thicken your locks and get really perfect, shiny hair just by adding in a multivitamin is too good to be true.”
The sweet, berrylike taste of this product seems to be one of the selling points, but this taste is down to the use of sugar. “This is sugar that you don’t need to add into your diet,” Lyndi told news.com.au. “It’s kind of bizarre that it’s being suggested as a health food when mainly what it is glucose syrup and a whole lot of other additives.”
