Frankie Venter brings us 'Leyla' for ZM and NZ On Air's Locals Only!
At the fresh age of 17, Frankie's distinctively captivating vocals drive a new pop-rock track with a mix of emotion and charisma (or should we say rizz?)😜
Drawn from various stories and experiences she wrote 'Leyla' after a night out on the town. 🪩💃
“I wrote it straight after coming home from a night out where I had a conversation with this really cocky guy who at one point spat on the ground and said: “Do you like it?”. I mushed it with another experience I had with a guy who wouldn’t stop talking about a girl called ‘Leyla’.” 💔
Taking the song to producer Rory Noble, they continued the story and imagined its dynamic chorus - adding further plot intrigue. “The idea that you can still like this person even though you know they’re cocky, full of it, and playing you.” 🫣
The narrative is cathartic and catchy - definitely a track to add to your late-night belter playlist.
