Last month 22-year-old New Zealand artist Muroki shared his funky, new single ‘Love Cocoon’ featuring BENEE! ☀️

Speaking on his relationship with BENEE and making this song together, Muroki explains; “All these influences were just saying one thing to me and I thought why not go straight to the source and get BENEE to jump on this track? We sing two sides of a tale about someone utterly besotted with their partner and I love what we got here”.

Fresh off the back of opening for Aotearoa supergroup Leisure on their NZ tour and having recently been announced on the lineup for both Homegrown and Soundsplash, ‘Love Cocoon’ is the second chapter of Muroki's new era. Plus he's building toward the release of a new EP early-2024! - Wahoo! 😍

On jumping on the track, BENEE says “Muroki played me Love Cocoon earlier on this year and asked if I wanted to jump on! I was instantly drawn to how smooth everything is about this song & wanted to try to support that in my verse! I also related to these lyrics a lot. And it’s always a pleasure working with Muroki hehe…“ 🥰

Muroki’s hybrid sound mixes his Raglan background of skating pavements and surfing breaks with inspiration from his Kenyan heritage. His breakout hit Wavy topped the NZ charts and the breezy soul-pop jam Surfin’ became a triple j playlist fave and was nominated by GQ as the single “...soundtrack of Summer." 🏄‍♂️
