Spotify has found New Zealand's favourite artist. And it is..
*drumroll*
Drake.
The Canadian rapper tops a list of the country's most listened-to musicians released by the streaming app.
The singer's tracks have been streamed on Spotify more than any other artist's this year.
New Zealand seem to be following the taste of the rest of the world. Drake was also the world's most popular artist this year, with 4.7 billion streams globally.
He has claimed the title from last year's winner, Ed Sheeran.Â
Drake's track One Dance (feat WizKid and Kyla) was New Zealand's and the world's favourite track too. With over 970 million streams and counting, the track is the most-listened-to track of all time on Spotify.
Drake was beaten out by fellow Canadian Justin Bieber for most-streamed album of the year, however, with Bieber's Purpose taking out the top title.
Six60 was NZ's top streamed local artist this year. Their self-titled album was also our fifth most-streamed album, keeping Bieber, Drake, Rihanna and Twenty One Pilots company.
