All good things must come to an end! But we're gonna have to wait a bit longer yet...

*SPOILER-FREE ZONE*

It looks like we're gonna have to wait two years until the epic conclusion of Stranger Things... and the episodes are going to be shorter!

David Harbour who plays Jim Hopper told GQ Magazine that the series is likely to begin filming next year, with a release date of summer 2024, “I think we’ll [shoot] next year. They’re finishing writing it this year, and they need to prep and stuff... So it’d probably come out mid-2024, based on our track record.”

After season 4's feature-length finale, we finally have an idea of how the series will be wrapped up. Season 5 has already been announced as the shows last and will no doubt have us screaming at the TV to not kill off our faves.

According to the shows creators, the Duffer Brothers, the episodes won't be 1.5 hours long for the final season because of the cliffhanger ending of season 4 - “The only reason we don’t expect it to be as long is, this season, if you look at it, it’s almost a two-hour ramp up before our kids really get drawn into a supernatural mystery."

They continued,“You get to see them in their lives, they’re struggling with adapting to high school and so forth, Steve’s trying to find a date, all of that. None of that is obviously going to be occurring [in season five]."

However, they did say that they'll probably do a feature-length finale again, so they can give the show a proper send-off just like it deserves.

Duffer Brothers if you're reading this... protect Steve at all costs!
