Ariana Grande's 'We Can't Be Friends' music videos has us all in our FEELS

Ariana Grande's new album Eternal Sunshine has recently dropped, and one songs music video has some fans emo AF! 

Ariana is known for some iconic music videos like Thank u, next, 34+35 and God is a woman and now We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) is undoubtably being added to that list. Sitting comfortably with 14 million views in only 4 days and No.1 in Trending for music on YouTube.

This music video captivates us instantly as Ariana plays 'Peaches' who goes into a hospital setting to have a procedure to erase the memories of her ex-boyfriend - who is played by non-other than Evan Peters. (Personally, I wouldn't be erasing him from my memory, but I understand the message girl😉😍)

Ariana's Eternal Sunshine album has themes of loss, grief, love and heartbreak - focusing on the positives and negatives and everything in between. Those themes were very dominant in this music video, especially near the end of the memory erasing. After almost all memories were erased, Peaches gets a reluctant look in her eye once she realised the necklace her ex gave her was still around her neck and looks like she wants to hold on to the memory.

(Cue the water works 😭😭😭)

The necklace quickly transforms into a dog collar and the memory is altered into a new one, but not completely erased like the rest. 

Not only does We Can't Be Friends, but also her entire new album Eternal Sunshine channels the Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Mac Miller, Ariana Grandes ex-boyfriend who passed away in 2018, said this movie was one of his favourites “Whenever I'm talking to a girl, I always tell them to watch Eternal Sunshine. It cuts deep". Knowing this piece of information makes it even more emotional to watch.

The Eternal Sunshine album is filled with some absolute bops and hopefully we can expect to see some more cinematic music videos to come! 🤞🤞
