Bridgerton Season 3 will follow the love story of Penelope and Colin!

Dear readers... the cat is out of the bag! 

Season 3 of Bridgerton has been given the green light and will follow the love story of Penelope and Colin's love story.

Nicola Coughlan, who plays the youngest Featherington sister and the persona of 'Lady Whistledown,' announced the "big secret" for the upcoming season on Instagram.

"Like Lady Whistledown I’ve been keeping quite a big secret for quite a long time … but I can finally tell you that @bridgertonnetflix Season Three is Colin and Penelope’s Story."

The official Bridgerton account also confirmed the news, saying, "Miss Penelope Featherington cannot remain a wallflower forever, as all plants thrive best in the sunlight."

And the fans agree! With one person saying, "Yes!! Give the people what they want 😍" and another writing, "Finally Penelope will be happy!!!"

The upcoming season will break from the order of the books by Julia Quinn - the third in the series focuses on Benedict Bridgerton, while book four is about Penelope and Colin. But if you've seen Season 2, then you'll know it just makes sense this way.

With Season 3 expected to come out in 2023 we will have to wait a little longer but we are well and truly team #Polin!
