Kiwi's are checking their freezers after the brand of frozen berries that left four people with hepatitis A has been revealed.

Peter Thomson from the Ministry of Primary Industries said last night: "The company is FSL Foods, and the brand being recalled is Fruzio Mixed Berries sold in 1kg and 500g bags."

Those who were concerned are advised to boil berries before eating them, and elderly people and those with chronic liver damage should avoid imported frozen berries that have not been heat treated.

A post on the Fruzio Facebook page said it imports berries from China and Serbia, and packages them in Nelson.

They can be purchased at Pak'n Save, some New World and Four Square stores, and independent retailers.
