Here's how often you should actually change your sheets
It turns out that our beds are disgustingly yuck. We sleep in our filth. Isn't that just delightful to hear?
This is all according to Philip Tierno of the New York University School of Medicine.
Here’s just a sample of what you’re sleeping on: fungi, bacteria, soil, sweat, sputum, vaginal juice, poo, urine, skin.
Plus bits of all the junk food you've consumed while binge-watching on Netflix.
But here is some advice to make that grimy place of sleep somewhat less grimy.Â
Philip Tieron advises that to avoid allergies, you should be stripping those sheets off your bed for some clean ones at least once a week.Â

Tierno says, ‘Stuff like that accumulates to become significant usually between one or two weeks.
‘Bottom line, they should be washed probably on the average of once a week.’
