Hotel lets you foster dogs when you stay

When Hotel Sales Manager, Teresa Johnston, wanted to set Home 2 Suites apart from other Hotels, she came up with a brilliant idea. A hotel that lets guests foster and even adopt a dog during their stay! 

"She wanted to have the business more involved with the community. It was a very out-of-the-box way to find our animals new homes so we were on board," explained Bianca Janik, South Mississippi Animal Shelter's relations manager.

Home 2 Suites has partnered with the Humane Society of South Mississippi to tackle the problem of overpopulated shelter, which takes in about 8,000 dogs a year.

While the program hasn't expanded it to other hotels yet, the Humane Society of South Mississippi are open to the idea.

So far, 33 guests have gone home with dogs from the hotel.
