Lewis Capaldi cancels New Zealand shows, rest of 2023 world tour: ‘I’m so incredibly sorry’

Lewis Capaldi confirms NZ shows are no longer going ahead after heartbreaking Glastonbury performance. 

The self-proclaimed sexiest man alive was set to take to the stage in Auckland on July 18, followed by a show in Wellys on July 19, he’s now revealed that he will not make it to NZ next month for his sold-out run of headline tour dates due to health reasons.

In an emotional statement, Capaldi shared on his Insta he was “very sorry to let you know I’m going to be taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future.”

Live Nation has said "Tickets will be automatically refunded in full to the original payment method used for purchase and patrons do not need to take any action."

The announcement comes after Lewis' performance at Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage, where the crowd helped sing for him ❤️

Lewis said: “I’m really sorry, this is a pain in the a---.

“You’ve all come out and I really apologise.”

The singer battled through losing his voice and a great deal of ticks, after recently being diagnosed with Tourette’s, during his main stage set.

After performing Hold Me While You Wait, he apologised and admitted he was annoyed with himself - but the crowd replied by cheering him on and chanting “Oh, Lewis Capaldi”.

He had originally started Saturday’s set with a host of hit tracks from his two chart-topping albums as well as taking his shirt off at one stage.

The Brit Award-winning singer, 26, earlier this month took the step of cancelling all his other commitments in June ahead of the festival at Worthy Farm to allow himself time to “rest and recover.”
