Could you lock your phone away for a week?
A new Netflix documentary/drama, The Social Dilemma, has gone inside the workings of the social platforms that have such a huge impact on our daily lives...
So get out your Screen Time app because it'll make you question just how long you spend scrolling your phone and social media!
The film explores the idea that tech and social media platforms such as Facebook and Google, have been deliberately designed to get us addicted and profit off our attention- creating algorithms to give us the specialised content we see every day.
One of the most powerful quotes in the film, is by Edward Tufte who says "there are only two industries that refer to their customers as 'users': illegal drugs and software" and warns that "if you're not paying for the product, then you're the product".
It also makes viewers question how often they are unconsciously picking up their phone, or scrolling on social media daily.
Day show gal Georgia has challenged herself to no phone for a week to see if she survive- listen to her updates daily 10:30 am-3 pm!
