New music is on the way for Shawn Mendes

Shawn Mendes is returning to music after a 2-year break with a new album on the way and a live performance scheduled in Brazil!

Shawn posted on Instagram saying he is performing as a headlining act for Rock In Rio music festival in Brazil, and then casually dropped in his new album he's also working on "I’ve also been working on a new album, and I can’t wait to play these new songs live for you."

Shawn!! You are being so cool, calm and collected about this announcement - I'm violently crying and throwing up over this news! I'm pretty nonchalant about it too TBH. 😉😅😅

Shawn's last album was Wonder back in 2020, so this announcement is a biggy!

Shawn took a step back from music due to mental health struggles and wrote to Instagram in 2022 saying, "After speaking more with my team and working with an incredible group of health professionals, it has become more clear that I need to take the time I've never taken personally, to ground myself and come back stronger."

In January this year, Shawn shared to Instagram highlighting his growth. "Over the last year I spent a lot of time singing like this... I found that in moments of extreme anxiety or fear if I sat down with my harmonium and allowed myself with full trust to sing whatever came out it would often ease the pain".

There isn't much certainty about what this new album has in store, however we can assume it will be filled with many hit singles which showcase his raw talent and growth as both a musician and person 🩷
