If you're a fan of Topshop or Topman then we have bad news for you... the two New Zealand stores, located in Auckland and Wellington, could be closing.

Today the troubled retailer has announced it has gone into receivership.

"We have put our hearts and souls into this business, we have the best staff, great store locations, and the directors have left no stone unturned in trying to find a solution," the directors of Top Retail said.

"It is with regret that the directors had no alternative but to request the secured lender to appoint receivers. We will work closely with the receivers to ensure the best possible outcome for the business and employees.

The company said both its Auckland and Wellington store would operate as usual until a decision was made by receivers as to the future ownership of the company, but in most receivership cases, the stores tend to end up closing, just like beloved Wild Pair.
