It's a humble life being a Kiwi kid.

Whilst in the US and Australia there are theme parks errrrrywhere, the children of New Zealand only have the one: Rainbow's End.

The Auckland based theme park is iconic, as any trip to the City of Sails at a young age would most probably involve a trip to the only theme park in NZ.

But the Kiwi kids of today will not be able to experience one of Rainbow's Ends longest standing rides, The Pirate Ship.

Rainbow's End has taken to Facebook to announce that after 34 years of providing children with joy, the Pirate Ship at Rainbow’s End will swing its last swing on Saturday 19th August to make way for a new development planned for late 2018.

If you want to have one last ride on the big ship the farewell celebrations will be held on Saturday 19th August with prizes for best-dressed pirates.

R.I.P Pirate Ship, you will be missed.
