Research says that cats may not be complete jerks after all!

Cats have a bit of a reputation for being jerks, after all, they just you for food and warmth, right? Well, not necessarily! A new study has shown that cats actually enjoy your company, even more so than treats, scents and toys. 

Researchers from Oregon State and Monmouth University gathered 50 adult cats (in a variety of breeds) and sheltered them in a calm and quiet room without stimuli. After two and a half hours, they were free to roam into another room, where food, toys, scents, and humans awaited them. 

Surprisingly enough, most cats opted for personal attention from the humans. Yep, that's right! They like spending time with you more than eating FOOD. 

 So if you're a cat person, you can finally tell your dog fan friends that cats aren't jerks after all!
