'Shrek' to debut in Reo Māori at 2025 Māoriland Film Festival

The collab that we've been waiting for! 🤩😱 DreamWorks and Māoriland Productions to dub 'Shrek' in Te Reo Māori ❤️🖤

Award winning and iconic animated film, 'Shrek' has been dubbed in over 40 languages and has now added a new language to the mix. Leading to a world premiere at the Māoriland Film Festival in March 2025, followed by a series of special screenings all across Aotearoa.

“We are hugely excited to re-imagine this phenomenal and captivating story, which has captured the hearts of families worldwide in te reo Māori” said Māoriland producer Libby Hakaraia. 

This adaptation will be the first time EVER that a DreamWorks Animation film has been adapted in the reo.
