This weekend Aotearoa is attempting to get back Guinness World Record of 'World's Largest Haka' and the lineup is stacked...

Six60 are set to join local stars, including Alien Weaponry, Che Fu, Kings, Ria Hall, Rob Ruha, Anika Moa and Hollie Smith, providing entertainment at Ngā Ana Wai Eden Park on Sunday, September 29.

“Having one of New Zealand’s most successful bands join our line-up is a dream come true,” says Dame Hinewehi Mohi (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāi Tūhoe), the cultural ambassador for haka and co-founder of the Raukatauri Music Therapy Trust.

Randomly, France?!?! holds the current Guinness World Record for the largest haka, set in 2014 by 4028 participants, almost a decade ago to the day.

The HAKA identity has been developed by Extended Whānau. The whakapapa and energy of haka is captured in a distinctive wordmark. It represents the Māori origins of haka through the dance of Tānerore, the personification of heat shimmer. The performative and sound qualities of haka are also present.
