The Best Teen Movies that Perfect the Genre!

(It's safe to say that I give these the chef's kiss of approval🤌)

Give me a binge-able teen movie with a side of angst and a whole lot of house party and I'll be sorted... but what are the top teen movies that are guaranteed a satisfied watch?

10 Things I Hate About You (1999)

Give me Heath Ledger, a badass female lead, and sprinkle some Shakespearian madness in there and I've got my Friday night sorted. 🎨

Lady Bird (2017)

A teenager (Saoirse Ronan) navigates a loving but overbearing relationship with her mother (Laurie Metcalf) over an eventful senior year of high school. Did I mention it's written and directed by Greta Gerwig and Timothee Chalamet makes an appearance? 😍

Mean Girls (2004)

Surviving the Apocalypse of High School is no easy task but at North Shore High School, with The Plastics in charge, it would be nearly impossible... but we still all want to be them! Who can resist a stacked cast consisting of Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lindsay Lohan.💄

The Edge of Seventeen (2016)

Growing up is hard, and life is no easier when you're a peak-awkward high schooler, like Nadine (Hailee Steinfeld) when your all-star older brother starts dating her best friend. 🎓

Bring It On (2000)

I think we all dreamed of being on our high school's Cheer Squad and with a cheer captain like Torrance Shipman beating all odds and bringing an underdog team to victory, 'Bring It On' is a nostalgic piece of movie magic! 📣

 The Hate U Give (2018)

Starring our very own Kiwi boy KJ Apa makes 'The Hate U Give' even more of a coming-of-age masterpiece. Tackling social issues after a teenager (Amandla Stenberg) must find her voice after witnessing the fatal shooting of her childhood friend. ❤️

To All The Boys I Loved Before (2018)

Are there some scenes that will make you cringe? Yes. Will you forget that every time Noah Centineo smiles? Also, yes. 💋

The Breakfast Club (1985)

We all wanted to stay at high school as little as possible, but there's no denying we think it would be pretty cool to live out the plot of The Breakfast Club. The characters are a diverse and unlikely bunch that represent different stereotypes... at this point, it's an educational piece! 😉
