The trailer for 'Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical' has dropped and it's everything and more!

Everything about 'Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical' is incredible and we can’t wait to watch it on Netflix later this year! 

There’s a lot to digest when watching the trailer, released this morning!

The trailer showcases an unrecognisable Emma Thompson who plays the terrifying Miss Trunchbull. 

We also see snippets of unhappy students and our fave Miss Hunny, played by Lashana Lynch (who we know from Captain Marvel!)

Of course the actress who plays Matilda had to be cute, fierce and determined and director Matthew Warchus has chosen just that! From what we’ve seen in the trailer, Alisha Weir embodies Matilda perfectly! 

In 2018 Netflix acquired the rights to numerous stories from Roald Dhal and in 2021 the platform bought the Roald Dahl Story Company!  

We’ve seen the story of Matilda in 1996 which later became a musical in 2010, arriving to Broadway three years later!

Director Matthew Warchus has told this story before, having directed the musical in New York and London! We have high hopes he’ll execute the tale incredibly well!
