There's A New Snake-Like App Taking Over the App Store

Despite not having the highest rating in the world, Slither.io is taking the world by storm and has routinely unseated Snapchat as the No. 1 free app in the App Store since launching earlier this month.

It's addictive. Much like our beloved OG Snake, it's just hard to stop. Even though there are some technical hiccups and lagging going on, it's still easy to get hooked. 

The gameplay is pretty simple. You're a worm and you're collecting gems to grow larger. Touching any part of the screen will move the worm in that direction. 

And then you learn (probably accidentally) that you can double tap the screen to use a boost that lets you move faster. The only prob is that using it costs gems which ultimately means you'll end up with a lower score. 

Since it's a massively multiplayer game, you run into other players often. This is where the real strategy comes into play.

Whenever one player collides with another, the player who crashes dies.

After eliminating a player, their gems are officially up for grabs. The bigger the opponent, the more gems they drop.

There's just something about seeing who can outsmart who. 

To put it simply: It's addictive AF and that's the way we like it.
