Billboard has named the Top Greatest Pop Stars of 2023! 😍
1. Coming in at number 1 spot is our girl Taylor Swift (obviously)! When we look back on 2023, we will reminisce the year in Taylor Swift — who, quite simply, spent all year doing things we’ve never seen a pop star do before. Alongside her Era's tour grossing over 1 billion dollars were the groundbreaking re-releases of her albums 'Speak Now' and '1989' as Taylor's Versions in 2023, as well as some other hits from the Vault that left us all in awe of the superstar that Taylor will go down in history as. ❤️🔥
2. She's coming off the back of her 2023 SOS era, scoring two of the year's biggest hits and leveling up in just about every element of her superstardom... introducing Sza! 'Kill Bill' was essentially glued to the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 with the album earning 318,000 plays in the first week which became the biggest streaming week ever for an R&B album ever! 💙
3. Creating a Renaissance last year with a comeback for the history books, Beyoncé takes out 3rd spot for the Greatest Pop Sars of 2023 after her Renaissance tour confirmed both her legacy and vitality as an artist. She kicked off the year with the growth of 'Cuff It,' her second hit from Renaissance following 'Break My Soul.' 🖤
4. At number 4, it's only fair that we remember the year in Ice Spice — who, while still in the earliest stages of her career, became a vital part of 2023 pop culture. She manifested becoming successful and the spotlight finally came toward the end of 2022. “Watch me get lit by the end of the summer,” the then-22-year-old MC rapped on her single 'Euphoric,' which she independently released three months before her breakout hit 'Munch (Feelin’ U).' 💚
5. Rounding out the top 5 is Country-Pop star, Morgan Wallen! Morgan put up mind-boggling stats all year. To add to his hit music, The New Yorker also dubbed him “the most wanted man in country - and we agree! 🤎
6. Colombian star Karol G comes in at 6th place! The popstar went to a new level in 2023, with a pair of hit albums and one of the year's biggest tours. 💛
7. Despite only just getting her driver's license, a very well-deserved 7th place goes to Olivia Rodrigo! Following her Disney Channel stardom, Olivia has proven she is a force to be reckoned with following her release of GUTS which included the hits 'vampire', 'bad idea, right?', and 'get him back!' 💜
8. Billboard's Greatest Pop Star of 2022 didn't repeat at number 1 in 2023, but still had an enormous year that further cemented his global legacy... it is Bad Bunny! He's got one of the biggest albums of the last decade, the 13-week Billboard 200-topper Un Verano Sin Ti, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio became the biggest star in the world, all while singing in Spanish. 🧡
9. Entered 2023 with five Grammy nominations, the 9th spot is dedicated to Doja Cat. With her star status once again seemingly in jeopardy after provoking her fans and making a challenging sonic pivot, Doja Cat once again ended the year securely at pop's centre. ❤️
10. Closing out the top 10 we have Drake. The iconic veteran superstar can still always reach the pointy end of the charts to prove his rap and pop supremacy. 🤍
