WATCH: Will Smith smacks Chris Rock in the face after joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith

This is wild!!!!

Chris Rock is known for his jokes that some may call borderline, but it seems Will Smith didn't take kindly to a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett. 

Rock appeared on stage to present the Oscar for documentary feature and made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith being in “G.I. Jane” because of her shaved head. 

Smith then walked up to the stage rather calmly and socked Rock in the mouth... The sound of the punch can be heard very clearly and there's no doubt it was felt. 

Some are calling it the greatest gag the Oscars has ever seen, but others aren't convinced it was a joke at all. As once Smith got back to his seat he yelled "Keep my wife's name out of your f****** mouth". 

Jada Pinkett-Smith suffers from a medical condition which has caused her to lose her hair in recent months. 

During the commercial break, it's said that Denzel Washington and Meredith O. Sullivan (Smith's publicist) spoke to the actor privately to address what happened. 

Will Smith went on to win Best Actor for his role in King Richard where he apologised to the Academy during his acceptance speech.
