We've got some great news, and it's all thanks to two studies fresh from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
These studies have suggested that moderately throwing back any types of alcohol may lower some people's risk of heart disease. Emphasis on the moderate. Findings from the research showed that moderate drinkers' hearts fared noticeably better than those who don't drink any alcohol.
There was 60,665 participants in the study, and their drinking habits were tracked in the late '90s.
It seems that a little bit of what doesn't kill you can indeed make you a wee bit stronger. This is all just as long as you don't go overboard, of course.Â
One of the authors of the two massive studies, Imre Janszky, disclosed in a press release that part of how alcohol helps the heart is likely by increasing good cholesterol.
So next time you have a drink, you can enjoy it that little bit more!
