What those white spots on your nails mean

Contrary to popular belief, the white lines and spots on your fingernails don't mean that you have a calcium or zinc deficiency.

In fact, you actually have a condition called Punctate Leukonychia.

Don't worry we had no idea what these words meant either!

This condition isn't as bad as it sounds, it's just a fancy name for bruises on your fingernails after you may have accidentally bumped them on something. 

Basically if you do notice these little marks, you're not going to die, nor do you have a mineral deficiency, but try being less clumsy and see if that fixes the problem.
