Why your iPhone has a tiny hole at the back of it

Over the years, Apple has managed to pack more and more little features into their iPhones with a lot of them going unnoticed.

One of these little things might have been that wee hole that sits right beside the rear camera on the back of your phone.

But what purpose does it serve?

It turns out that it's actually a directional microphone that will pick up audio from the direction that your camera is pointing.

So basically it's designed to capture high-quality audio to go with your amazing scenic videos that you're capturing, but it is used to capture your hilarious mate's 3 AM Maccas antics on Snapchat.
