Woman Won Over 1 Million Dollars On The Lottery By Playing Ex-Partners Numbers

Scottish women Lisa Forgie split from her ex years ago but continued to put on the numbers they used to use together on the lottery.

She then landed £51,355 after matching five numbers and the bonus ball.

Lisa said: “I’ve done it for the last 12 years – I kept doing it after we split up. I didn’t stop playing them because if they came in, I’d have been gutted – but I think he stopped.

“To my knowledge, he didn’t win. I haven’t spoken to him directly but he passed a message through a friend to congratulate us (Lisa and her new fiancee), which is really nice of him.”

She said: “To start with, I thought it said £51.35. It took a double take to realise. I was shocked and the colour drained from my face. I started shaking.

“We got the money this week so it has become very real in the last 48 hours but I still don’t think it has sunk in. I’m a fortunate person. I’ve always been really lucky.”

Lisa and her fiancee Neil plan to spend the money on a new home and hope to head to South America.

Lisa said: “My dream is to go to Brazil. I’ll think about planning a trip there now.”

She added: “The money really will enhance our lives. It’s enough to keep you comfortable for a long time.”
