ZM's $50,000 Secret Sound: Soundkeeper Brooke's Clues Explained

Soundkeeper Brooke here - now that the sound has been guessed, I bet you want an explanation for all my tricky clues...

CLUE #1

This poem was on a card I got with my Valentine's Day flowers. The Red and Blue refers to the jumper leads & the broken part is about having a non-working battery. 

CLUE #2

Clue #2 was an iHeartRadio app-exclusive (make sure you've got the free app downloaded), it is about getting your car diagnosed with a problem AND waiting for a mechanic to arrive.

CLUE #3

Ex Soundkeeper Ella visited me in the lair, secretly recording our conversation. We spoke about getting news from the doctor. I asked if I should give her the positive or negative news first. A nod to attaching the positive jumper lead first. 

CLUE #4

Clue #4 is about searching through the manual of a car to find out how to jump-start a car.

CLUE #5

The first letter of each emoji spells out J A R P D P L U M E S

if you rearrange these letters, it spells out JUMPER LEADS

Props to people in ZM's Close Friends group for figuring this one out within MINUTES of me posting the clue!

CLUE #6

I escaped the ZM Lair and posted my journey. In the video you can see a pair of jumper leads on the left behind the cones. 

CLUE #7

My ransom note has the word ‘battery’ diagonally from bottom left to top right.

CLUE #8

I was trying to get you off your horse buzz – the sound had NOTHING to do with a horse ;)

CLUE #9

My weekend schedule where I walked the ZM Lair and tried to tunnel my way out. I also watched the footy game between Queens Park Rangers and Leeds (spelt LEADS in the schedule) at 1:30am.

CHARGE my crystals was also included on my weekend plans.

CLUE #10

I released a whole SONG and music video for this clue. No, I wasn’t getting bored in the ZM Lair...

The lyrics “made it come alive, now I’ve gotta lock it” are of course refering to the car coming back to life after jump-starting it.

CLUE #11

My final clue gave you the place where the sound happens. With each word being said by a few of you who sent videos in. The words were lyrics to Charli XCX’s song 'Vroom Vroom' – referencing a car.

BONUS EASTER EGGS:

When I escaped the ZM Lair I jumped into the water 😚💦

The only time I had my nails painted they were black & red.

I usually used blue, silver and red images when I posted your daily guesses – the colour of jumper leads / car batteries.

It takes two prongs to be connected to a battery to jumpstart it.

On the weekends we had the chance for you to be a queue JUMPER.

Used a photo of Richard Hammond on a meme - he was a co-host of car show 'Top Gear'.

12 = December 
2023 = the year 
4660781= how many cars registered in NZ December 2023
