The odds ARE in our favour with The Hunger Games prequel film coming next year!

It’s been seven years since Mockingjay- Part 2 was released in cinemas, ending an iconic era of bow and arrows, team Peter or team Gale and our fave, Katniss Everdeen!

To our amazement, Lionsgate has announced ‘The Hunger Games’ prequel novel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, will be getting a movie adaptation NEXT YEAR.

Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, released in 2020, written by Suzanne Collins, follows Coriolanus Snow. The storyline looked at his younger days when he mentored a young girl from District 12 for the 10th Hunger Games.

'It takes place decades before the adventures of Katniss Everdeen and centres on young Coriolanus Snow, who eventually becomes the tyrannical president of Panem. The film is currently in production with a mystery cast.' - Film Updates

Although there’s been no announcement on the cast, we do know that Francis Lawrence (director of Catching Fire and Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2) is back for Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes!

Time to re-read the series for the 10th time, right?
